PROBATION VIOLATIONS
If you are on Probation and have failed to
report, pay a fine, complete an ordered program or school, or have
been re-arrested, you need to contact an experienced criminal
attorney right away.
Often, if the problem is promptly
addressed, you can be reinstated on probation with minimal
penalties. Putting off dealing with the problem will only make
matters worse.
A warrant for your arrest may be issued.
Even if a warrant is outstanding for your arrest, we can assist in
recalling and quashing the warrant, or help with bail and bail
reduction.
Going to Court without representation can
be risky- you may be taken into custody on the spot, with no
representation, making the situation that much more difficult.
FAILURES to APPEAR & ARREST WARRANTS
If you have failed to appear in Court
(called an "FTA") for any criminal matter, a warrant has probably
been issued for your arrest.
We can inquire with all California Courts
to see if a warrant is issued, for what reason, and determine the
bail. Often warrants can be "recalled" and a release obtained
without the posting of bail. Depending on the Court and reason for
the warrant, the Client may not even have to appear in Court.
Deal with the problem now, when you and
your attorney can control the time and place the warrant is
addressed. If you don't, the police will control it, and you may be
arrested at home, at school, or at work.
Ignoring the warrant will not make it go
away; police agencies are now using sophisticated computer systems
that make finding you easier and easier, and often associate
warrants with addresses, vehicles, and telephone numbers.
